Doo-Wop Subversion in Archival Promo Splendor: Original 1968 Verve/Bizarre DJ Issue

Frank Zappa's affectionate, satirical homage to 1950s East L.A. street-corner doo-wop and R&B, Cruising with Ruben & the Jets, remains one of the most distinctive conceptual outings in the Mothers' catalog. Crucially, this original 1968 Verve/Bizarre vinyl presents the authentic original analog mix—preserving the authentic vintage drum tracks and acoustic basslines before Zappa notoriously re-recorded and digitized the rhythm section in the 1980s.

• The Provenance: Original media review copy sent directly from the record company to the New York Post in 1968.

• The Promo Heritage: Features the highly coveted, original factory red oval "DJ NOT FOR SALE" stickeraffixed to the lower right front cover, identifying this as an authentic first-batch press distribution.

• Vinyl Condition: Complete time-capsule quality. The record is unplayed, boasting 100% factory luster, sharp edges, and zero spindle marks.

• Cover Condition: Cal Schenkel's classic comic-book anthropomorphic dog artwork is strikingly clean, with vibrant color saturation and structurally sound seams showing only faint, honest shelf wear.
