You are bidding on a STUNNING ORIGINAL UK 1969 pressing of one of the most underrated albums ever produced!!! The UK Reprise Records 1st Pressing of the seminal 'Hot Rats'! by Frank Zappa!!! This is the Original 1968 UK Reprise 1st Pressing (A1//B1 matrix) on 1st press tan 'Steamboat' Labels with 1st press MacNeill un-laminated gatefold sleeve (NOT the later shiny re-press sleeve!!!) What's More it's in stunning Condition!!! The cool 1960's vinyl is visually and aurally pristine condition!!! It shines with that 'just pressed' look and feel!!! The Classic tan 1st press Reprise centre labels are in great condition!!! They have NO tears, NO scribbles. NO lifting or bubbling NO factory faults and NO unwanted writing or staining of any kind to whatsoever - just some very light spindle lines and that's it!!! The thick & chunky super heavy 1st press vinyl is also in STUNNING condition!!! It has NO Scratches, NO hairlines, NO scuffing, NO Groove-wear and NO warping!!! For a UK 1st pressing to look & play like this is virtually impossible!!!  There is possibly just the occasional wispy paper line that is invisible unless holding the record angled toward a window and is simply caused by removing the record from its inner sleeve. This in no way effects the playing of this superb record!!! The thick quality pressed chunky 1960's vinyl looks and feels great (it is very heavy!) This record easily grades as Excellent++ even by my own strict grading standards (most would grade Nr Mint).

The 1st press MacNeill un-laminated gatefold sleeve is in super condition!!!  Always carefully check before buying the sleeve as many sellers try to pass of later re-issue sleeves as 1st issues - they are not. The MacNeill un-laminated 'Swimming Pool' sleeve was the ONLY sleeve that came with the true UK 1st pressing of this album. This sleeve is in superb condition which is super rare as most suffered severe damage due to non lamination. However this 1st press sleeve is in beautiful condition!!! It has retained all it lovely satin finish and maintained its stiffness (not gone floppy and lifeless like most around today) and has NO Tears, No Seam splitting and virtually NO feathering of the opening edge!! There are NO Scribbles and NO unwanted writing of any kind!!!  It has an excellent strong spine with Nr Mint legible spine text and folds out perfectly to reveal a stunning unblemished un-laminated inner gatefold!!! The sleeve lies totally FLAT with NONE of the ring wear commonly associated with this sleeve. There is also virtually NO seam wear, there is some very minor corner wear but NONE of the discoloration to the white borders and is very common with this sleeve. The sleeve lies perfectly FLAT!!! A beautiful example of this very rare & fragile 1st press cover which easily grades as a Excellent!!! Believe me, like all our other records this is in no way over-graded!!! The LP comes with its Original & Correct  'Made in England' and 'Patents' text poly-lined windowed inner sleeve which is in Nr Mint condition!!! It lies perfectly flat with no nasty creases or separation of the inner lining!!!!

Don't underestimate the rarity of this LP - finding a UK 1st press of this LP by Zappa, complete with it's original  gatefold sleeve is alvery hard impossible today - especially in this condition!!! We will only ship to non-UK countries via Airmail - we do not use surface mail, it is way too slow and thus increases the risk of records being damaged during transit.

A little note about insurance - Please read carefully... If the value of your record(s) is over £30, your invoice will include an insured option. Being the responsible adults you are, it is entirely up to you to take this up  - we strongly advise you to do this but will not hassle you about it. You either add the required insurance or you don't. If you do add the required insurance and your record is lost/damaged, you will get a refund. However, there will always be somebody out there whose expectations far exceed UK record collector grading standards.  If you are in anyway unsatisfied with your record or our grading of it please refer to the UK Record Collector Grading Chart very carefully BEFORE emailing us. We strictly adhere to it and will only offer refunds (minus the postage AND our eBay costs) if we are satisfied that we have fallen below UK record collector grading standards. We will always leave feedback upon receipt of feedback.
