Don't miss this opportunity to own one of the finest 1972 CLASSIC POP ROCK Albums of all time.

Waka/Jawaka is an album by Frank Zappa, released in July 1972. The album is the jazz-influenced precursor to The Grand Wazoo (November 1972), and, as the front cover indicates, sequel of sorts to 1969's Hot Rats. According to Zappa, the title "is something that showed up on a Ouija board at one time."

"Big Swifty" is a jazz-fusion tune, similar to many of Zappa's pieces from the jazz period of his compositional time line. It features many horns to achieve a thick brassy sound as well as room for improvisation and use of multiple time signatures. Opening in a fast 7/8 riff, the tune continues to alternate between 7/8 and 6/8 (or 3/4) times, finally ending on a 4/4 swing time signature. Known recorded live versions expanded rhythmic diversification to 11/8 and rubato parts (e.g. live in Texas, 1973).

The track "It Just Might Be a One-Shot Deal" is a strange tale of hallucinations sung by Sal Marquez and Janet Ferguson (the tough-minded groupie in 200 Motels). Jeff Simmons' Hawaiian guitar sets up a dreamy smoothness worthy of Steely Dan, but with the words but you should be diggin' it while it's happening cause it just might be a one-shot deal, Though played in real time rather than achieved with a splice, it again sounds as if the music has started to run backwards.

ANY OTHER QUESTIONS , PLEASE ASK ME , YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED

If you 'are' interested in any of my records , please don't miss out by not making a bid , I do not relist items straight away as once the auction has finished any unsold items are taken to market in order to rotate stock, and of course as a result may not be available for sale again.

Also note that a lot of my item end times 'overlap'. Don't lose out by 'missing' the end of the auction whilst you're bidding on another item, 'put in your maximum bid' ..... what do you have to lose ? , you might end up getting a bargain and if someone bids more than you then you've not paid more than you wanted to in the first place.

All records are professionally cleaned using an MOTH cleaning system prior to despatch.

I package my records in the strongest purpose made mailers for maximum safety.

All records are removed from their picture sleeves where appropriate and posted in a separate plain white inner to avoid damage during transit.

The following is the scale I use to grade my records , I try my best to get it right so please buy with confidence.

MINT:

The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks

or deterioration in sound quality.

The cover and any extra items are in perfect condition.

Records advertised as sealed or un-played should be mint.

EXCELLENT:

The record shows some signs of having been played,

but there is very little lessening in sound quality.

The vinyl may have some hairline surface scuffs which will be only slightly visible.

The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD:

The record has obviously been played many times,

but displays no major deterioration in sound quality,

despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch.

Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items,

is acceptable.

GOOD:

The record has been played so much

that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated.

perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches.

The cover suffers from folding, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
