Description
Fred Gerlach (And 12-String Guitar): "Gallows Pole And Other Folk Songs" 1962, USA/Audio-Video Productions Inc. A-V 102. Disc is in remarkable shape, some mild surface discolouration to the vinyl but no scratches, plays M- or very close, I'll give it a VG+ grade to be strict. Cover has a laminated coating so there's no ringwear on the front, back shows some light soiling, seams are dried out and threatening to split, this is VG+ and I seriously doubt you could find a better one. Has a booklet insert which has Folkways release info (says it's Folkways LP #FG 3529) but this is clearly on the Audio-Video Productions label (see photo). Massively rare early folk blues LP has narration at the intros of some tracks, giving it a "Library of Congress document" feel that Alan Lomax would have approved of. I'm told that Jimmy Page learned Gallows Pole from this LP.
