Description
Killer very rare DJ promo LP by Fred Wesley And The J.B.'s. Titled: Exorcist "Damn Right I Am Somebody". Original U.S. DJ Promo on People Records from 1974. Condition is VG+ (cover)/Excellent+ Side 1/strong VG+ Side 2 (vinyl). Cover has some light wear on corners, face (light ring wear). Vinyl appears lightly played, some light surface scuff/sleeve slide marks mostly on Side 2 not deep. Plays loud and well. Former owner took good care of his records. He told me the adhesive on the DJ sticker had lost most of its adhesion so he removed it but did hold on to and ensconced it in plastic (see photo) and will be included with the record.
The DJ promo version omits "Going To Get A Thrill' in favour of a Fred Wesley & The JB's recording of Al Green's 'Love & Happiness'. There is no singing on 'Love & Happiness'; James Brown and the band talk over the track and name check various DJ's who they thank for playing their music. Fred Wesley has a brief horn solo before it fades out. The first 30 seconds or so of this promo-only track were used as the intro to the song 'Damn Right I Am Somebody'.

Grading Scale:
10: Mint Perfect record, clean gloss, no marks, beautiful in every way. Very few records will make mint.
9: Mint- Very clean, only a few light marks. A great record.
8: Excellent (VG++) Condition between 7 and 9.
7: VG+ Used, but not abused. Light scratches only. Should play, and look very nice with minimal surface noise.
6: VG Still a nice record. Looks a bit used, light scratches, no gouges, still plays well, some surface noise.
5: VG- A bit rough but will play ok. Fills the collection.
4: G Plays very rough. Has multiple scratches. What a bargain!!
3-2-1: It only goes down from here.
