FRED WESLEY AND THE NEW JB'S  LP. BREAKING BREAD.  This copy an OG 1974 US STEREO PRESSING on the PEOPLE LABEL CAT# PE6604.  By 1970, James Brown was a huge star, and selling a lot of records.  He was bringing talent into his circle, and promoting them on stage and on records.  Bobby Byrd and Lynn Collins, and Maceo Parker were a few of his desciples.  He started his own label at the time, People records, and he provided talent for that label.  The JB's were a super cool funk band that originally emanated out of Brown's band.  The core was the Collins Brothers; Bootsy and Catfish.  They would leave in short order to join George Clinton in Parliament Funkadelic.  So the second coming of The JB's was anchored and fronted by Free Wesley.  Both bands are great, and it's worth buying all of the JB's LPs.  This one from 1974 is in prime funky time, and this is a killer example of great mid 70s funk.  With recent prices of other OG funk LPs skyrocketing, this one seems like a bargain.  This copy is the original Monarch pressing, and it plays great.  


COVER is VG   It's a solid cover, but has a couple corner bends and a couple corner dings (SEE PHOTOS).  These were party albums, and covers took the brunt of people's ecstasy.  The front has great colors, and is vibrant, but has 4 corner bends and 4 corner dings.  Front and back cover have a little ring pressing.  Bottom and top seam have some shelf wear, and the spine is in beautiful shape, besides a small soft spot at the top.  The condition of this cover I see as a badge of honor that this was owned by a legit funky bro.  

VINYL VG++  Plays absolutely fantastic, but not quite NM.  Super great album that is impossible to not get up and dance to.
