This is FREDDIE HUBBARD’s “Night of the Cookers, Vol 1” on the "Liberty” labels of Blue Note BST 84207.  Musicians include Freddie Hubbard: trumpet, Lee Morgan: trumpet, James Spaulding: alto saxophone, flute, Harold Mabern, Jr.: piano, Larry Ridley: bass, Pete LaRoca: drums, Big Black: congas.

VINYL plays with consistent light background surface noise (i.e, crackle, static, ?? or ????, relative to the volume of the music/instruments), with occasional pops and ticks. The very dynamic and powerful live recording largely overwhelms any surface noise. Ensemble sections are clear, dynamic and strong. No skips. Very Good gloss. Handful of non-feelable hairline marks.  (If you can’t feel it, you won’t hear it). The “Liberty” labels are clean, spindle wear. See photos.

COVER is in good shape. Corners worn.  Ringwear.  Spine and seams mostly clean. Some cracking. Back jacket shows ringwear, wear, stains. Please see photos.

This LP was play-tested on a high-end audio system. RECORD CLEANED ON ULTRASONIC CLEANER. Record photographed before final clear rinse/dry.
