Description

Offered is a quite rare, autographed 1st Edition Mono Pressing of Freddie Hubbard's LP Blue Spirits, on Blue Note BLP 4196.

The vinyl condition is investment grade quality at EX+, and is described more fully below. Larry Ridley (who plays bass on Tracks A1 and B2 on the recording) was likely with Freddie on the night of the performance / signing, as his autograph appears just below Freddie's on the back cover.

THE VINYL -  EX+ :  Lightly played with minimal evidence of spindlewear (please see close up photos of the labels), both of the LP surfaces retain much of their original gloss. 
 
Evident are some light marks from sleevewear, and a few shallow hairlines. The Blue and White Blue Note labels are intact and undamaged - however both labels have some ink marks  (please see photos). 
 
The record has been carefully handled, infrequently played, and the mono audio playback is impressive.





THE COVER -   VG+ :  Please see photos / both seams and the spine are intact / the front cover shows some scuffing and moderate front cover ringwear / there is also some minor paper fraying on the seams, and moderate fraying on the spine / some light, age-related yellowing visible on the white background of the back cover / other than the autographs, there is no other writing.


About the Autographs:  From photo # 4 in our gallery - Freddie writes (in black ink) "To Ron Blessings Now Freddie Hubbard"  and Larry signs with no written message - his message is likely in the music.



Included is the original paper inner sleeve (please see photos). 


We have placed both the cover and the LP into separate, protective plastic sleeves.
