Visual grading

Overall this very first pressing is in excellent condition with a few minor hairlines, a couple of small scratches and some faint hazing.  There is almost no spindle wear and has the Side One label on both sides.  Being a first pressing it obviously escaped 'quality control'!  I certainly haven't seen one like this before and may be a real rarity and perhaps highly collectible.

Play grading

The title track plays with minor static during the quieter sections but the audio remains strong and vibrant and is not intrusive.  The remainder of the side plays in similar fashion.  Yes there is light static here and there but it still has excellent clarity and for a vinyl nearing 30 years of age it still plays extremely well.  There are no clicks or pops anywhere.

'The Golden Boy' beings with lead in static plays and again can be heard in the quieter sections.  The crackle is a little more obvious on this side.  I must add the crackle is not loud and the listen is still an enjoyable one.  'How Can I Go On' plays with excellent audio and very little interference.  The final track, 'Overture...' again has some quiet static but no clicks, pops or jumps anywhere.

Gatefold cover

The gatefold is in excellent condition with some mild shelf wear.  The top and bottom of the spine do have some rubbing and there is a little rubbing on the edges but is only minor.  The cover itself is extremely clean and has no marks.  There is also a little handling wear on the opening edge.

The lyric inner and labels

The lyric inner is just a shade off being Mint, it is in superb condition.  The labels are beautifully clean and as already stated it has the Side One label on both sides.
