Side One is Ex++/Near Mint-
Side Two is Ex+
The gatefold is Ex close to Ex+
The lyric inner is Mint
The labels are Near Mint
Visual grading
Overall this first pressing is in excellent condition and extremely clean with only a handful of very faint hairlines and a more obvious one on the final track on Side Two although this does not affect the audio. Interestingly S1 has hardly any spindle wear, Side Two has a little more.
Play grading
'Barcelona' on Side One has a little light intermittent crackle at the beginning and then plays with very strong audio and hardly any interference. 'La Japonaise' plays almost as Mint, with remarkable clarity for such a quiet track. 'The Fallen Priest'' plays in similar fashion with just a touch of static here and there, something you expect on a vinyl of this age anyway. 'Ensueno' ends the side with stunning audio. Yes a few light dust ticks and a little more crackle right at the end but certainly not intrusive.
'The Golden Boy' has light static here and there but still plays extremely well. The classic 'Guide Me Home' has one click and and light interference in a few places although again is only in the background and is an excellent version. The very popular 'How Can I Go On' plays with great audio and almost zero interference, the quality is of a very high standard. The final track, 'Overture...' has light crackle at the beginning but ends the LP with excellent clarity and with only a little distortion towards the end. I mention 'static/background noise' when many others wouldn't as is really only what you would expect of a vinyl nearing 30 years of age.
Gatefold cover
The gatefold is in excellent condition with only mild shelf wear. Only the top and bottom edge of the reverse side has some minor rubbing. The front cover is extremely clean as is the wide spine although the top of the spine does have a little pinching. The inside of the gatefold remains in superb condition. There are no marks on the cover to be seen.
The lyric inner and labels
The lyric inner is in absolute perfect condition, 100% Mint. The labels are in great condition, the S2 label just has one small mark by the spindle hole.
