WOW!!! WOW!!! WOW!!! MEGARARE and Hard-To-Find original Polydor Records second MONO press released by Polydor Records, made and distributed in Chile in 1965 by Discos Philips (Philips Records), licensed from the Deutsche Grammophon Gesellschaft, Germany, catalog number LPHM 46765, with machine etched matrix number 46765-5 A M2 G-V in Side 1 and 46765-5 B M2 G-V in Side 2, with traditional orange/black Polydor Records labels of the period, with white “Polydor” and black logo at top. Yes, Sirs, another FIND from Chile!!!

“Heimweh Nach St. Pauli” was originally released in December 1962 in Germany and we didn’t have to wait much because in 1963 it was also released here in Chile, but this is a second press, released in 1965, and like usual in the period, we got it with a UNIQUE COVER, made of a single piece of thin cardboard or thick paper folded in the middle, faking a gatefold cover, and kept all together by a plastic bag. Front cover keeps strictly the same original German artwork and design, with all text in German only, the only differences are that here in Chile about 5mm of the picture at right edge is missed and the Polydor Records logo is, in Chile, a rectangle with “plain” Polydor logo, not a square with “scroll” Polydor logo. Back cover has a UNIQUE and very simple DESIGN, with the album title and tracklist written in Spanish only, with full credits for songwriters, with catalog number at top left and right corners, and half of the back cover used to recommend 5 albums, with Mono and Stereo catalog numbers, and full tracklist, by Bert Kaempfert. In labels, the name of the album and tracklist are written in Spanish only, with full credits for songwriters and additional information about licenses. In the case you don’t know the album, it’s all sung in German, except the fourth song of Side 1, “The Lonesome Star”, which’s sung in English. So, here you have the chance to get and own this great album by German singer Freddy Quinn, in this MEGARARE CHILEAN PRESS with UNIQUE COVER, UNIQUE BACK COVER and with Spanish-written album and song titles, a record almost never seen, A MUST TO HAVE for all fans, lovers and collectors of Rock ‘N’ Roll and Pop/Schlager music, and especially for all fans, lovers and collectors of Freddy!!!

The cover was already described and it’s in great EX- or EX condition, clean and clear, with some wear in all edges more evident in corners and the mouth edge, with some little rips, faint creases and ring marks, with evident age browning and some faint blemishes in back cover. The record is in strong EX or EX+ condition both sides, glossy and clean, with minimal soft scuffs and very light hairlines, almost impossible to see at first sight, with a very slight warp, which don’t affect play at all. Labels are in NM- or NM condition both sides, clean and clear, with only minimal spindle hole wear, free of marks of any kind. The sound is the best part, it’s in strong EX or even EX+ condition both sides, loud, clean and clear, virtually no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with constant and mostly barely audible soft crackles and occasional light clicks here and there, more evident in the silent parts between tracks, which don’t cause major distraction from the loud and clear sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, this is a great record in this MEGARARE CHILEAN SECOND PRESS, with UNIQUE BACK COVER and with Spanish-written album and song titles, maybe not for the strictest Minty minds or audiophiles, but for sure in still great condition, with complete and fully free of marks cover and with the record with a nice glossy look, almost immaculate labels and great sound quality after about 59 years, which shouldn’t disappoint anyone and should satisfy any serious collector who knows the real level of rarity if this Chilean press!!! We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
