Hi! You're looking at an excellent condition, NEAR MINT copy of a record which is RARE and hard to find and a fascinating recording of avant-garde composer FREDERIC RZEWSKI--the record is on the Opus One label and the serial number Number Twenty. The LP is in NEAR MINT condition with vinyl that's in excellent shape, with just a couple of very light paper scuffs that do not affect play; the cover is also NM with some very light shelfwear, and the cover has a special florescent ink effect which shows only in black light (and a small insert explaining and demonstrating the effect). The record also includes a full periodical publication for Opus One records (Issue Number Twenty-Two) featuring the Blackearth Percussion Group. The record features performances of three avant-garde compositiong by FREDERIC RZEWSKI, who of which were inspired by the Attica riots and subesquent deaths of 43 inmates and hostages: "Coming Together" (1972) and "Attica" (1972). The performances on these two compositions are by KARL BERGER, vibraphone; ALVIN CURRAN, synthesizer and piccolo trumpet; JON GIBSON on alto saxophone; JOAN KALISCH on viola; GARRETT LIST on trombone; FREDERIC RZEWSKI on piano and electric piano; and RICHARD YOUNGSTEIN on bass. The third composition is "Les Moutons De Panurge" (1969), performed by the BLACKEARTH PERCUSSION GROUP, with members CHRISTOPHER BRAUS, vibraphone and glockenspiel; GARY KVISTAD, almglocken; RICHARD KVISTAD, nabimba; and ALLEN OTTE, xylophone.
