Description
This is the original UK LP by FREE, TON OF SOBS, Stereo, Rare 1969 3rd pressing on the textured Pink ' i ' logo ISLAND label, ILPS 9089, complete with it's original 1969 original UK E.J DAY gatefold with wide spine
Matrix numbers are, Side 1:- ILPS + 9089 + A2, Side 2:- ILPS + 9089 + B2
The 1st Pressing was originally released 14th March 1969, such was the popularity of the album, Island records quickly pressed 2nd Pressings and subsequently 3rd pressings, all in the space of 4- months. I am constanly baffled why Island changed their label designs 4 times in the space of 3 years, but it is what it is. The album is pressed on a massively heavyweight vinyl, a real slab!, 180g - 200g!, impressive. Of course all pressings in 1969 and forthcoming years were pressed from the original master tapes to ensure the highest quality sounding vinyl possible, which is very obvious once you hear this superb album.

The original 1969 UK E.DAY gatefold cover is in VG+ condition , lovely and clean, maintaining all it's original bright vibrant colour, their are no stains, no unwanted writing. Their is some wear to the corners and the spine and some ultra light creasing to the main body of the gatefold on the front. The spine is lovely and broad, showing some light wear, the wording on the spine is perfectly readable
The vinyl is visually in VG++ condition, displaying some non-audioable marks, the vinyl is gleaming with all it's original shine and lustre!, I have played both sides (very carefully!) and the vinyl plays EX, playing with stunning crisp clear clarity, the stereo is sublime!, TOP QUALITY PRESSING!. The vinyl plays with beautiful rich tones and warmth, NO clicks, No heavy crackle, no jumps, no sticking, no hiss, no groove wear and no sound distortion. Their is a few seconds of very light crackle to be heard right at the start of side 1, track 1, and side 2 track 3, a light pop at the start and only one more midway through, other than these very very minor indescretions, the vinyl plays superbly! (not heavily played), this is testament to ISLAND records, pressed on heavy weight vinyl with deep grooves, great LP, classic rock blues, a WONDERFUL PLAYING VINYL! and a sheer joy to listen too, STUNNING AUDIO!
The lovely textured PINK ISLAND ' i ' logo label's are in EX+++ condition, still maintaining their original bright vibrant rich pink colour, their is no unwanted writing, no scuffs. The centre spindle hole shows minimal wear, lovely labels!
The vinyl is housed in a UK white inner sleeve is in EX+++ condition. Their are no seam splits, no unwanted writing, nice and clean
