Notes: Free emerged from the British blues boom with a tight, muscular style that framed Paul Rodgers' throaty voice. Guitarist Paul Kossoff provides the perfect foil with incisive, measured solos exemplified by his contribution to "All Right Now." This successful single transformed the group from club to festival status. Free's unhurried, careful intensity is captured perfectly on the album's title track and "Oh I Wept," two songs charged with emotion. Where many contemporaries tended towards excess, Free implied a resonant power, particularly through Andy Fraser's liquid bass work, which weaves between the melody lines, rather than asserting them. FIRE AND WATER is a high spot in heavy rock; rather than merely asserting masculine qualities, this album also shows a rare vulnerability.

I add new items most days..........please take a look
I usually begin items at a low price to generate interest and bidding.....................
All items carefully graded audio-visually, and are played on a high quality system.
Please feel able to bid with confidence , as a collector myself I realize the requirements in the gradings of sleeves and discs , and how important it is to recieve items in the condition as advertised in listings ........I grade the discs beneath a light , to be sure of condition..................I notice that the usual practice by many sellers on eBay is using the buzzwords 'Stunning' , 'Superb' , 'Awesome' 'etc etc etc...... and have grossly long-winded descriptions .............these 'experts' also add technical information , which is totally unfounded and incorrect to actual facts , and would be laughable , but for the fact that it is misleading , and tends to hide the fact that the items on offer are only Average/Very Good , substandard items........and a 1000 word essay does not make what is an easily found VG condition item into a difficult to find Mint condition item.................. I take time and care to grade items correctly and only list quality records........
I have been a lifelong music fan , my first concert visit was in 1957 (Birmingham Town Hall Skiffle Contest!) and have bought records of all the great music since 1959 , and had the privelege of seeing most of the great artists live too (I saw The Beatles twice........and Segovia!)
