SOPHOMORE ALBUM from this British blues rock institution - arguably one of the most important bands to have ever emerged out of these fair Isle's along side Led Zep and Deep Purple. This album showcases a fledgling band getting into their stride with a solid set of pure riff-tastic blues allowing vocalist Paul Rodgers to shine and guitarist Paul Kossoff to take off on some incredible flights of fancy. Some great tracks here including 'I'll Be Creepin', 'Songs Of Yesterday', 'Woman' and 'Broad Daylight' amongst many, many others.
A fantastic album (produced by the infamous Chris Blackwell) and one that kept the ball rolling for a string of recordings that shook the very foundations of the establishment.
Pressing: Island, UK, 1969 - Pink Rim Island
Vinyl: Nice clean and shiny condition - can only have been played once or twice. Virtually no visible spindle marks - lovely and clean surfaces. Playback is stunning warm and punchy analog - exactly the way this record was meant to be heard - with virtually no snap, crackle or pop. Grades as a very strong almost shop fresh MINT-!
Cover: Again virtually no signs of use. Issued in a beautifully illustrated matt finish gatefold sleeve - crisp and clean retaining original printers bloom. Razor sharp corners, no dings, no bends, no ring wear and no split seams. Spine is straight, stiff and uncrushed. Rear panel is lovely and clean. Impossible to find in this condition after 44 years. Grades as top almost shop fresh MINT-!
