Description

This is a great LP. It's a UK stereo pressing entitled 'Tons of Sobs' By Free on the UK Island label. This album was actually released in 1969 but this example is a second pressing from 1971 and features the Island pink rim labels. The catalogue number is ILPS 9089. The music varies from hard blues to full blooded progressive psychedelic rock. This album will definitely appeal to fans of psychedelic and progressive music from the late 1960's and early 1970's. I can highly recommend it.

OUTER SLEEVE - The gatefold sleeve is in beautiful condition with very minor wear and creasing. The top and bottom edges show almost no wear and the spine is in lovely condition. The wording along the spine is 100% readable. The inner portion of the gatefold sleeve is in beautiful condition with minimal wear. It states on the inside cover - 'Front cover photography : Mike Sida - Inside cover photography : Richard Bennett - Zeff - Piano thumping - Steve Miller - Recording engineer - Andrew Johns - PRODUCED BY GUY STEVENS - Printed and made by E. J. Day & Co. Ltd., London, W.11. I have graded the sleeve Ex ++.

INNER SLEEVE - This is a light blue Island company type with an inner clear plastic lining and the Island compan y details at the bottom of both sides printed in pink.

RECORD - This is in beautiful condition with minor surface marks on both sides which result in minimal surface noise. This is hardly audible at any stage of the two sides of the LP. There are occasional pops and clicks but there are definitely no jumps or skips on either side. The labels which are the Island 'pink rim' type with the palm tree logo with black wording are in fine condition. There are some spindle marks on both labels and the record has been well played. The matrix numbers on the run-off grooves are - side one - ILPS 9089 A-3U (stampers 1 M PORKY) - side two - ILPS 9089 B-3U (stampers 1 G PECKO). I have graded the record as Ex++ and believe that this is very fair.
