On offer here is a very rare LP (especially in this condition!!!!) by Free called 'Tons Of Sobs' and is a VERY rare stereo 1st Pressing on the 1ST PRESS Island 'Circle' logo!!!! THIS IS A MASSIVELY RARE LP TO FIND ON THE 1ST PRESS ISLAND 'TEXTURED' 'CIRCLE' LOGO!!!! THIS IS THE EARLIEST 1969 1ST PRESSING WITH THE 1ST PRESS 'TEXTURED' ISLAND LABEL, AND 1ST PRESS GATEFOLD 'E.J.DAY' COVER!!!! DONT MISS OUT ON THIS MASSIVELY RARE 1ST PRESSING IN BRILLIANT CONDITION!!!! This is the ORIGINAL Island UK 1st pressing from 1969 and is MASSIVELY RARE!!!! The record is pressed on THICK quality vinyl. The Cat. No is ILPS 9089 on the ORIGINAL 1st Press 'Circle' logo Island label (see picture) and is a UK stereo 1st Pressing!!!! All the tracks are pure quality Free at their best!!!! Any fan of Free, or 60s music in general, will want to have this in their collection!!!!

The vinyl is in unbelievable condition for its age. With these records, you often find them in horrible condition. However, this is no regular record. The person who owned this must have been aware that they would be worth good money one day and took great care of it. There are only a few surface marks, none of which are visible under dull light. These marks only show up under bright light and make minimal deterioration to the sound quality. I would say the worst part of this record is the first 20 seconds to a minute on the first side, most of which is contained in the run-in grooves. Here, you will hear two mild pops and some surface noise. For run-in grooves, I would grade this record at VG. However, the rest of the record I would grade at a conservative EXCELLENT, as there is minimal surface noise and most of it is contained as this is such a loud rock album.
This record has its original sleeve, which is also a 1st press sleeve printed and made by E. J. Day & Co. (as stated). The sleeve has some noticeable scuffing at the edges, especially on the spine. Overall, it has the expected wear for a sleeve of this age. However, the artwork is still very prominent, and the structure of the sleeve is sturdy. I will grade the sleeve as GOOD. This is an original 1st press PINK ISLAND Tons of Sobs with the orange and black circle logo. This is the rarest of all the pressings. Second pressings had the BLACK 'I' central in the logo. These came out later in 1969, so first pressings were not out for long before the label was deleted. Second pressings are worth about half. Third pressings were released in 1970 and they have the famous WHITE 'I' logo. These are worth two-thirds the value of a second pressing. Fourth pressings had the "pink rim" label and they are worth half the second pressings. So, as you can imagine, not only is the album always worth money--no matter what pressing--you are looking at the rarest of them all.
