FREE - 'FIRE AND WATER'

RARE ORIGINAL 1970 UK 1st STEREO PRESSING ON THE 1ST PRESS PINK 'i' ISLAND LABEL

***** Very 1st Press Matrix A1/B1 & 1st Mother stampers '1' Stamped on side 1 & 2 *****

An Original UK 1st Stereo Pressing with the (A1/B1 matrices & #1 1st mothers) contains all the original 7-track recordings prior to the Band going back to the studio to re-record new alternate vocals and additional overdubs on some of the tracks to be used on a later date for singles and re-issues of album - The vinyl being in a well preserved and well kept condition for the last 40 years - With the Original UK 1st PRESS 'MacNeill Press' Matt picture sleeve cover - Also comes with as I believe the Orginal  White Plain Inner Sleeve with 'MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN' on the bottom right hand side - With all parts of the Album being totally sound and intact in there overall condition -  It's just so scarce these days and near impossible to find a well cared for 1st Press Copy of Free's Fire and Water LP that hasn't been played to death and near on Destruction at drunken fueled parties 40 years ago and your probably thinking will I ever find that elusive virtually half decent copy where the Vinyl surfaces still look playable!!! - Well you have Now on this very collectable Album!!!

All of my records That I'm selling are from my own personel collection that I have collected and cherished for over 40 years and which have been generally kept and looked after to the highest standard.

Vinyl Condition: EX The Vinyl on both playing surfaces visually appear to have No bad scratches or Marks looks to be not over played and mostly free from any bad surface marks or wear/blemishes and has been very well cared for - On closer examination under bright light it only just about reveals nothing more than some insignificant very feint mild wispy small hairlines & scuff traces on each side mostly from the inner sleeve removal over the years that absolutely dosen't affect the excellent or better very clear Audio Playback - The vinyl still retains it's original  pressed look with black shiny gloss sheen and lustre - A superb example of this original 1970 copy!!

AUDIO PLAYBACK ASSESSMENT:  - SUPERB UNINTERRUPTED CRYSTAL CLEAR CLARITY AND POWER ON AUDIO PLAYBACK END TO END - Audio is Graded as Ex to Nr MINT - There are No Major Clicks, pops, skips, jumps or repeats and shows No other annoying  audio noise distortions during playback If I'm going to be Ultra Critical whilst listening through the playback you may get occasionally when the very quiet tracks begin to play or on the start of run ins and inbetween tracks you may get some very light static crackle for a second or two and then it just fades away but absolutely nothing of any consequence that will spoil your overall enjoyment of this exceptional Iconic Classic Album - Overall  its just a Fantastic listening Experience  from this Dynanmic Stereo Audio performance!!! - As you would expect from a 1st Pressing!!!

Please Note: This record has been stored away and not touched or cleaned for most of it's 41 years it would obviously benefit from a professional clean  before play as to reduce further any light static crackle that is still present

Labels Condition: NMint  The vivid PINK Island Labels are just Superb and visually look Unmarked  pristine and near perfect with very little evidence showing of Spindle usage marks or trails across either side of the Labels with No real wear around the spindle hole which still looks excellent its very evident that when it was ever played over the 40 years it was done with alot of care and attention - When examined under bright lights then only can you see some evidence of feint spider trails near the spindle hole on each side  is some not that much evidence to show of any excessive audio play use to be seen!!!

Cover Condition: VG to Excellent An Original MacNeill Press matt picture finish single sleeve cover - Although the cover is totally intact in it's original state but due to the notorious unlaminated flimsy thin card they used in this 1st press production run it's acquired a few mild marks blemishes and small creases over the years even though it was housed in a plastic cover - I dread to think what it may have looked like without the protection on it - The original front and back of cover still shows to be very clean with all it's bold vibrant vivid colours - Apart from some minimal light edge and corner rub bump wear around the cover the front side opening edge still excellent condition showing to be still very straight and not that worn along the very thin card edges -This doesn't detract too much from the overall look of it being a sound near excellent in condition for the cover

Spine Condition: EX The spine is still excellent and intact - Still amazing with all written text still showing to be bold clear legible and perfectly worded along the narrow spine edge apart from the letter 'E' in the word 'FIRE' has slightly rubbed away and with some very mild light rub wear top and bottom spine corners and along the spine in places (see photo) with No other noticable wear along the spine edge to be seen

Inner Sleeve: EX The original Company Plain White Inner sleeve is still totally intact in an excellent condition for its age - Absolutely NO Tears,Splits,Ink Writting,Stickers or other Blemishes apart from the unavoidable light yellow ageing tinges around the edges and some general creasing mainly caused by the round disc impression

The overall exceptional condition of this Album is mainly due to the superb dry storage conditions and thick plastic cover protection on this LP Record over it's Lifetime!!!

Thanks for Looking and Happy Bidding!!!
