Here for sale I have the ultra rare sought after original 1971 RCA vinyl album titled fresh maggots by fresh maggots. RCA VICTOR SF8205.
This record is very hard to find especially in this condition, and those copies that are out there are already in collectors hands, so this is a very unique opportunity for someone to get their hands on an excellent scarce Acid Folk-Rock album.
the record itself is in excellent condition having only a few very minor surface marks on it, which from an album of this age is only to be expected. i have played this record on my turntable and it sounds great and plays fine with no noticeable problems.
Acid Folk-Rock
the cover is also in very good condition with no tears in it, the top left hand corner has been slightly bent and the back of the cover does show signs of ring wear from the record being inside, but this is normal for a record of this age.
Fresh Maggots is the First and Only Album by the U.K. Acid Folk-Rock Band Fresh Maggots.Two young lads from the town of Nuneaton, Warwickshire, who had just turned 19, recorded one Album for the RCA Label. And this is all the history there is about the Band. Needless to say, the Album failed to sell, and was forgotten until the Folk Rock revival that has been going on, with crescent interest on the Genre and the Age, and was finally Re-Issued on CD by the Sunbeam Label a few years ago. Fresh Maggots are not like other Acid Folk acts, their sound is very aggressive, since it drank heavily from the growing movement at the time, The Hard-Rock scene. There is another peculiarity in Fresh Maggots. Their Album was highly anticipated and advertised, and when it came out a lot of Music Reviewers praised it as magnificent and something out of the ordinary. This is a lot different from all those other Bands who were cut short on their dreams due to bad management, as they had all the capacity to make it but weren't able to do so. And guess who's fault it is? The Label. They delayed the release and the Records all had several problems which ended being the cause for the Album being discontinued.
Best Tracks - “Dole Song”, “Rosemary Hill”, “Everyone's Gone To War”, “Spring”, “Elizabeth R” and “Frustration”. This was a truly joyful surprise. A must for everybody.any questions please ask.
