LP : Bailey, Frith, Fitzgerald, Reichel ?– Guitar Solos 2

Original UK-pressing form 1976 on CAROLINE, C 1518. Recorded in Dec. 1975 or Jan. 1976, heard as played without overdubbing, finally put together in the studio of (PINK FLOYD drummer) Nick Mason. From the back-linernotes: „1 and 2 were recorded at Tom Newman's barge (Argonaut Studio). 1 uses two guitars simultaneously - an Ormston-Burns Black Bison, and a Gibson 345. Both are fitted with an extra pick-up mounted above the first fret, which, together with a contact microphone, an ambiance microphone and slow echo repeat, makes a total of 9 separate tracks at once. 2 was played on the Gibson. On 3 the guitar, a Burns TR2, was treated with crocodile clips, chrome pipe and a loudspeaker from the output of the main amp on the strings. The instrument was tuned BEAGBE, and the main loudspeaker was facing a piano frame. The recording was on a Revox and cleaned up at Tom Newman's studio. 4-6 were played on a home-made guitar (one neck of it pointing to the left, one to the right). The guitar on 7-9 was an Epiphone Blackstone Acoustic.“

Hans Reichel at this time was a FREE MUSIC PRODUCTION / FMP-recording artist, I offer his rare 1977 LP on FMP „Reichel-Knispel-Duo / Erdmännchen“ in my currrent auctions, on wich he plays in the same style sounding „like he’s playing harpsichord, synthesizer, koto and harp, as well as standard guitar“ as on the CAROLINE LP. One of the rarer LPs of a collectable UK-label.

Condition: the record looks mint-. It plays in mint- with one exception: on the first track without any visual reason there's for a few seconds slightest surface-noise behind Fred Frith's very quiet guitar-into.

The cover shows just slightest shelfwear, all seams/spine are intact and show no rub, front & back are ansolutely fine, there's slightest wear on 2 of the corners ( tiny wrinkles), the upper right corner has a minimal bending; overall ex--/vg++.

Zustand: die LP ist optisch in mint-. Sie spielt durchgehend in mint- mit einer Ausnahme: ohne sichtbaren Grund ist auf dem ersten Stück für ein paar wenige Sekunden etwas Oberflächenrauschen hinter Fred Frith's sehr leisem Gitarren-Intro.

Das Cover hat nur ganz leichte Lagerspuren, alle Kanten sind intakt und ohne Abrieb, Vorder- & Rückseite sind sehr schön erhalten, 2 der Ecken haben leichte Fältelung, die obere rechte Ecke ist ganz leicht angebogen; insgesamt in ex--/vg++ .

Alle Platten wurden professionell gereinigt, entweder von mir (Hannl Mikro) oder von den Vorbesitzern (Okki Nokki, Loricraft o.Ä.). Anschließend wurden sie nur wenige Male abgespielt bzw. nur einmal von mir zum Bewerten angehört (komplett oder in Ausschnitten). Optische Bewertung erfolgt in Tageslicht, in normalen Kunstlicht & unter einer sehr hellen Halogenlampe. Platten kommen mit neuer hochwertiger Innenhülle & in einer Schutzhülle. Bitte beachten: auch prof. gereinigte Platten können einige Staubpartikel haben; “eingefangen” während optischer & akkustischer Bewertung, Fotografieren oder den wenigen Abspielungen der Vorbesitzer.

Grading & Cleaning:

• all records have been cleaned on a professional record cleaning machine, either by me (Hannl Mikro) or by the pre-owners (Okki Nokki, Loricraft or the like). After cleaning the records have been played just a few times (or only once by me for playgrading)

• I playgrade each record (completely or at least in parts) on my Rega Planar 9, high-end Moving Coil cartridge by EINSTEIN/ EMT TU-3 SFL (please consider that the playback might differ a bit depending on your own equipment)

• I also visually grade cleaned records in daylight, in normal artificial light & under a strong halogen lamp

• only an unplayed record is mint, my highest grading for a used record is mint- . My basic gradings are: mint – ex – vg

• cleaned records are stored in a new pro innersleeve and they are placed in a PVC protection-sleeve

• pl. note: even pro cleaned records may have received some dust particles during visual-/play-grading, photographing or few pre-owner playbacks
