Hello, and welcome to auction items from Chicago’s Wax Trax! Records.
We have been picking through the Wax Trax! archives and have a few rare items that we would like to make available to collectors for the first time.
For those wondering about the influential store & label, Wax Trax! first opened its Chicago location in 1978 by founders Jim Nash & Dannie Flesher. The store focused primarily on experimental, unusual or hard to find collectables and quickly became the center of underground punk, new wave and experimental music & culture throughout the Midwest.
Using the momentum of the the store’s success, Nash & Flesher branched out into the seminal record label in 1980. Early pivotal artists such as FRONT 242, Ministry, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, Front Line Assembly, COIL, Laibach, and so many other electronic pioneers had their beginnings with Jim & Dannie and Wax Trax! Records. The label's contribution to what has now become known as "Industrial Music" cannot be overstated.
What we have here is a rare piece from 2014. FRONT 242 Take One/ Deluxe Box Edition (WAX 9197)
This special Wax Trax! Records release was created for the 30th anniversary of FRONT 242's first US tour (1984-2014)
And contains the recordings:
A1. TAKE ONE Recorded live from their first 1984 Chicago/ Medusas Nightclub show
B1. IM RHYTHMUS BLEIBEN Recorded live from the 2011, Chicago/ WAX TRAX! RETROSPECTACLE.
A limited run of 500 (red vinyl) and 200 (deluxe box edition/ clear vinyl) were only available at the band's 2014 US dates to mark the anniversary.
For this current auction, In addition to the standard box edition, we have included both versions of the vinyl, a full set of 6 screen prints as well as 4 versions of the original Medusas ticket.
It includes EVERYTHING that was created for this release. Here is a detailed breakdown of what is being offered in this auction:

All proceeds from these upcoming WT auctions will be used to help fund the forthcoming Wax Trax! documentary. This film traces the arc of Wax Trax! Records throughout the 80‘s & 90‘s as well as the influence of Jim, Dannie as well as all the ground breaking artists that called Wax Trax! home.
