US DECCA DX 150 (5) mono only Beethoven: Sonatas for Violin & Pf. 1-10. Joseph Fuchs, vln. Artur Balsam, pf. The discs groove condition is near mint with the exception of Son.No. 7, it is VG-. The rest of the set plays NM (clearly, with all the highs) with needle drops and a few very short scratches on a few sides. The box is separated from the spine.I've spent some time gradeing this set and because of it being such an early issue & cut deeply the scratches don't really bother and all play through. This is the first copy I've found in this good condition (30yrs collecting) and the only time I've seen this autographed Limited Edition copy! The Edt. was 2500 and this is No. 641. Excellent booklet(mint) with the complete scores.Very bold, and careful signatures by both artists see photo. As to the playing Fuchs is certainly the most underrated of aartists at least these days. A pupil of Franz Kniesel (the first internationally famous American violinist). Fuchs favors fast tempi but beautifully proportioned playing as does the wonderful Artur Balsam.
