BIG BILL BROONZY LP SINGS COUNTRY BLUES (Folkways Records FA 2326) Released 1957.
Original silver & blue Deep Groove Folkways label. Twelve cuts recorded in Memphis in 1959 by Sam Charters. Contains the excellent illustrated booklet. Suitable for framing: Old-style Folkways wrap-around outer jacket & thick quality wax. The photo portrait on the front cover is in beautiful brown sepia tone. Our copy came from the original owner. We will be listing more great blues rarities from this collection. Besides "I'm Going to Brownsvile," the album also features "Casey Jones", "Judge Boushay Blues" & "I Will Turn Your Money Green," which was also done by J.B. Lenoir. US mono pressing with 117 W. 46th St. address on label. This copy has great visual appeal. Nice pics by AR Danberg. The booklet has a discography list of all the 78s put out by Furry Lewis. Very fine reflective sheen on the grooves inside a study, high-quality cover. (Matrix: "FS3323A DTC").
COVER - VG
The front of this cover looks very very nice. There is a seam split across most of the top edge. No significant stains, no tape, ink spills, puncture holes, bubbles, water damage, cut-out marks or stickers. No ring wear. Straight, flat cover with no bends, waves, ripples or bowing. Some corner banging & a little edge wear. No speckling. Booklet is in excellent condition with no creases or any other blemishes. Label looks quite nice: free of stains, marks, scuffs, cuts & writing. Sharp-cut hole with some faint transparent spindle brushings.
DISC - VG++
One faint hairline scratch on side A. No skips, streaking, or residue on the disc or dead wax. Free of chips, cracks & warping. This thick platter holds its sound better than a cheaper modern pressing.
