With 2025 marking their 45th year, NYC's Fuzztones re-emerge as snarling and strange as ever - a scuzzy celebration of garage-punk's loudest outliers. This career-spanning collection throws open the crypt to air out three LPs' worth of psych, sleaze, and B-movie garage menace. Cult staples like 'Bad News Travels Fast', 'Ward 81' and 'She's Wicked' show why they've remained a reference point from The Hives to The Horrors, while oddball cuts like 'Romilar D' and 'Launching Sanity's Dice' prove they never dropped the freak flag. The bonus material is gold too: the volcanic 'Bandit' by pre-Fuzztones unit Rigor Mortis and 'Bedsprings & Wedding Rings' from Rudi Protrudi's country alter ego add weirdo context to their legend. Surf riffs, Vox organ and full-throttle yelps abound - but it's the band's theatrical conviction that keeps this from feeling like retro cosplay. This is garage-psych with dirt under the nails.
