Description
Factory: FACT 14: The Durutti Column
The return of The Durutti Column
In original ‘Sandpaper’ sleeve
This is an original pressing of the Durutti Colum’s debut album on Factory Records. Released in January 1980, (but has 1979 on the label) this is a first pressing with ‘A1’ and ‘B1’ markings in the run-out grooves (the B side has a large run-out area as opposed to later pressings which used a different plate).
It was issued in very limited quantities in a sleeve constructed from sheets of sandpaper.
It has been in my own collection for many years and has been played only once when I transferred it to cassette.
Unfortunately, this copy does not have the Fact 14c Martin Hannett ‘Testcard’ flexi-disc, which was inserted into some copies of the album.
Side A:
Sketch for summer
Requiem for a Father
Katherine
Conduct
Side B:
Beginning
Jazz
Sketch for winter
Collette
In ‘D’
Please note that the 'Ripple' effect on the photogrpah is just the PVC cover the album has been kept in. The sleeve is perfect!
I used to own a collectors record shop, called ‘The Record Peddler’ in Manchester City Centre, which specialised in anything produced by Factory Records. I have many other items for sale at this time. If you have a Factory ‘Wants’ list, please send it to me at recordpeddlermcr@gmail.com
Please also check out my other items for sale.
Thanks for looking and Happy Bidding.
