Description

An original 1st press of FH on UK Island. Matrix 3/3 - earliest 1st cut widely available. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover. Please note on the rear it exhibits the corrective black box [over-print] with gold text in the top left corner. They changed the track listing very late on and many covers were already produced. Instead of discarding they chose this "overprint method" until new stock became available. We have it housed in a 1970 Decca poly-lined inner sleeve.
Vinyl (Ex) In beautiful condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. Don't go short changing yourself on this title. The 1st pressings sound fab - but make sure you get a clean player [don't chance a dud >> this is fussy audio]. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback with just one slight deviation. Wow, a really fine player - these 1st copies in a clean state are truly marvellous. Plays really clean throughout. If I were being very picky I'd mention the odd static crackle occasionally in 'Sloth'. But I'm only mentioning to be as critical as I can be. Even this track plays back superbly. An absolutely cracking copy - Highly recommended.
Cover (Vg+) Difficult to find in perfect condition, but this example is fairing well for its vintage. Just a touch of low-level ageing at extremities - but relatively little surface wear. A couple of blemishes on the front up around the band name - thankfully they are coloured close to the palette of the cover...which certainly mitigates! The rear is looking just as good. The interior is looking superb - lovely and clean and smooth to the touch. Just a bit of slight surface wear down in the bottom right corner. There's a bit of edge wear in places. The only slight down is the spine. There's a reasonable amount of wear [as is common in this title]. Nothing epic, but expect that the text on the spine only to be 50% legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing. Bag present. No splits.
