This is almost certainly the most well known album by the groundbreaking British Folk Rock band, Fairport Convention. 'Liege and Lief' is to British folk music what Dylan's 'Bringing It All Back Home' and The Band's 'Music From Big Pink' was to American folk music. Taking traditional British folk songs (Matty Groves, Tam Lin, Reynardine and The Deserter) and setting them in a rock idiom was to set in motion the development of British Folk Rock for the next half a century. A number of Fairport originals including Crazy Man Michael, Come All Ye and Farewell Farewell add to the importance of this record which features the unique and captivating voice of Sandy Denny and the instantly recognizable sound of guitarist Richard Thompson. The LP is pressed on heavyweight vinyl with the pink rim Island label. In amazing condition considering it's 1970 vintage, you will struggle to find another one this clean and tidy.
