I bought this LP in 1970, and I lived in Banbury, near Cropredy, where Fairport played many gigs! As students we would regularly see them perform at folk clubs and college halls and after seeing them, I bought this gate-fold edition, which is an E. J. Day cover, which was famous for its Beatles LP covers.

I must say I barely played this LP, if ever! I had an original 1969 release, which was not, as I recall, gate-fold?! I think it was more curiosity as to what the 'new' sleeve would be like, as can be seen in the photos!
And perhaps too many pints of Hookey ale, brewed in nearby Chippie!

The vinyl, its labels and spindle holes show no signs of use and are in tip-top condition. I would say the vinyl is in Excellent Plus condition, but then this is my own interpretation. But I own it, did not play it, so I think I am being fair. There are no scratches or marks and I am struggling to see inner sleeve marks even!

The inner sleeve is the original Island light blue paper and is intact and just gently ageing, as, again, can be seen in the photos.

The E. J. Day cover is in great condition, with just the usual, but very slight, corner scuffs and a little ageing, but otherwise fully original and intact.

This LP has the unusual 'autograph' by whomever it was at the Island pressing plant, being 'Porky & Pecko' and I have tried to photograph the former, being on Side One. I am sure I have seen this 'signature' on Led Zeppelin pressings of 1970, too, so maybe Atlantic and Island shared the same pressing plant?

Whatever, this is a lovely edition of this fantastic LP and a worthy addition to any folk collection, with the amazing voice of Sandy Denny, as well as the other original band members and owned by me; a lad from just outside Cropredy, who saw them actually live, at the time!

Any questions, please ask.

Thanks.

P. S. I went to school with Chris Leslie, who replaced the legendary Dave Swarbrick, many years later! We went to Dashwood Road School, Grimsbury School, then Grimsbury Hall and ''Yes'' he did play the fiddle at the age of 12!!!! Much to our amusement, as the fiddle was NOT cool!

Addendum: I am also selling a lovely, original copy of Tipplers Tales, too. If you bid for both and win both, I will combine postage, so just ask!
