Fairuz Sings Again
(born Nouhad Wadi Haddad)
Parlophone LPVD-4, Original FIRST Pressing, 10" LP (circa 1950s ?)
Apparently this is a VERY RARE RECORD, asking prices from $750 to $1500
NO RESERVE !!
- The cover is laminated with some light ring wear, and some tears in the opening as seen in pictures below.
- Back of cover has a tear at the opening, some dirt/staining at bottom.
- Cover EDGES are all very good with little wear.
- Vinyl is in VG++ condition with only a few light scratches on side 1, and only one light scratch on side 2.
- Scratches DO NOT AFFECT PLAY. Record plays all the way through. SOUNDS GREAT!
- Vinyl is very shiny and CLEAN.
SIDE TWO: 1. Maghrur (ballad of the devotion of the jilted lover), 2. Ya Rabi (a traditional "Mawwal" with double meaning of words, sung by a farmer or shepherd as he performs his daily work), 3. Nihna Widyab Al-Ghabat (song sung by a group of bedouins travelling on foot at night)

I have just learned that this album was the follow up to her "Fairuz sings" album, also on the Parlophone label, LPVD-1, which included the songs: Azzoura, Ya Honaina, Ya Ghozayel, Hala La Laya, Ila Ra'iya, Kaif Halak Ya Jar, and Dibna Wima Tibna.
These records are from the early 1960s, not 50's as I had speculated in my description.
Additionally, there is a video of her Parlophone covers on MySpace which DOES NOT show this one. Hmmm, could it be due to the rarity? Check it out for yourself at:
