The fifth studio album by Family was recorded at Olympic Sound Studios, London, but was not released until October 1971. The band had been touring in the USA in 1971, but after the tour bassist John Wieder quit to join Stud and was replaced by John Wetton as Family Mk.III. The new line up played at Glastonbury Fayre Festival and again toured the USA with the album finally making the charts in the US reaching no.177! They were always more popular in Britain and the album made no.14 in the UK Charts. This is the original issue with the gatefold booklet die-cut sleeve and the lyric inner, with the A-1 B-1 matrices & B-4 B-19 stampers of the first pressings.

The Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd matt booklet sleeve is intact & in VG+ condition, with some light rubbing/creasing on the die-cut folds of the cover. The rear cover has some light storage rubbing and a small sticker scar. The lyric inner is intact and in EX Condition and the plain company inner is intact & in EX condition.

The record is in visually EX+ condition, with only a couple of faint hairlines visible and one or two light needle scuffs/marks visible on each side. The labels are in EX+ condition, undamaged, clean & bright with evidence of one or two very faint spindle markings on each side.

The sound reproduction is EX+, still clear & precise throughout with no loud crackle or hiss and definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some very brief background noise during the run in grooves.
Overall, it is a really nice, loud & clear listen.

The matrix nos. are; K-54003, A-1 mother stamper B-4, B-1 mother stamper B-19. This is one of the very early pressings of the original 1970 UK stereo issue of this album!


  All lp's are sent outside the covers in cardboard record mailers with plastic covers and cardboard stiffeners to protect the albums!
