Excellent Canadian first pressing of the this Classic Audiophile  LP.  The Album is near mint  as can be seen in the picture, The Vinyl looks and  plays NM  and was probably played only once as we have 2 copies. This LP  was packed away for about 30 years. It has been played once more today.

Famous Blue Raincoat is the sixth album by Jennifer Warnes. It debuted on the Billboard 200 on February 14, 1987 and peaked at No. 72. Originally released by Cypress Records, it was reissued by Private Music after Cypress went out of business.

Released in January 1987, Famous Blue Raincoat is a tribute to Leonard Cohen, with whom Warnes had toured as a backup singer in the 1970s. The album's songs span much of Cohen's career, from his 1969 album Songs from a Room to his 1984 album Various Positions (on which Warnes sang), and even two tracks from Cohen's then-unreleased album I'm Your Man.

Guest contributors include guitarists Stevie Ray Vaughan, David Lindley and Robben Ford, drummer Vinnie Colaiuta, keyboardist Russell Ferrante, arranger Van Dyke Parks and Cohen himself duetting on "Joan of Arc."

The liner notes include a cartoon by Cohen of a torch being passed with the caption, "Jenny Sings Lenny."

The album is the first record produced by Roscoe Beck. In August 2007, a remastered and expanded 20th anniversary edition was released.
Best known for such pop hits as the Oscar- and Grammy-winning duets "(I've Had) The Time of My Life" with Bill Medley, from the film Dirty Dancing, and "Up Where We Belong" with Joe Cocker, from the film An Officer and a Gentleman, Jennifer Warnes has earned her greatest acclaim for Famous Blue Raincoat, considered by many to be one of the best albums of the '80s.

All our records are from our personal collection accumulated over the last 45 years. Most are in excellent to NM condition unless otherwise stated in the description.

1.      We will send out an invoice with checkout instructions within 72 hours. Payment is expected within 7 days of auction closing. We accept Paypal.

2.      Our items usually have no handling fees, but please expect additional charges for very large items, which require us to purchase special boxes for a safe shipment. Also, our location may affect the shipping cost we charge. Extra insurance and double boxing of parcels are available by individual request only; please remember this option may result in a significant increase in shipping costs.

3.      We like to use Canada Post Expedited Parcel Service as it provides both tracking and insurance.

4.      We will combine items upon request to save you money on the shipping! We ship internationally and will work with you to provide the best service for your needs.

5.      You will be emailed your tracking number upon shipping your purchase. Your item will be shipped within 3 business days after payment is received but is usually shipped the same day except for weekends and holidays. Refunds must be approved before they are sent back. Please note that some Canadian Holidays differ from US or other nations’ holidays.

6.      We do our best to list each item accurately. If we honestly miss damage - then we will accept the item back within 7 days of receipt. Items returned must arrive in the EXACT condition in which they were sent.

7.      Please note that shipping fees are not refundable. There will be no refund for any broken uninsured items. To receive a refund for a damaged, insured item, the item must be returned to us, however you must contact us first, and provide proof of damage from shipping.

8.      INSURANCE: All shipments are insured for loss ONLY or Carrier Damage. Our service cannot guarantee against breakage during shipping. We pack all items as best as we can to prevent damage, but this is not a fail-safe.
