Description

CONDITION:  EXCELLENT E+ a prewar jazz release on GENERAL DISCS that were known for above average fidelity and with the most famous of their records the series of solo recordings by JELLY ROLL MORTON that comprised the last sessions of his career including these sides cut in 1939 – here we have, according to The Jazz Record, "Recorded late in his career, the General records caught Jelly Roll at perhaps the peak of his ability, and many of these records, particularly Mamie's Blues...are regarded as blues classics" -- a 10” 78 rpm original record, GENERAL 4001 with Morton on piano and vocals on “MAMIES BLUES” and a straight out piano rag on “ORIGINAL RAGS”  -- please see photos for overall condition.

This record will be securely packed in a new 12x12x4 box sandwiched between cardboard stiffeners and floating in a paper fill.
