I purchased this record in a used record store in Rochester, NY in the early to mid 1980's.
Imagine my surprise when I pulled it from the rack and noticed the signature on the back.
In blue ballpoint ink, it is signed "Best Black Wishes Love Fela" (I am assuming the
word is "love"; It also looks like it could be "from"). I did not have this signed in person,
but I have no reason to doubt its authenticity because I purchased it in this signed condition
for the princely sum of $2.75.
The record itself is in very good plus condition, with numerous light, superficial scuffs on both sides.
Original used price sticker on side one label.
The cover is in very good condition. Upon close examination, there is some staining and rippling
to the front cover. I bought it in this condition. Original used price sticker on front cover.
The back cover, where the autograph appears, has no staining, but some minor ring wear. Back cover is stamped "SPECIALLY RECORDED AT ARC STUDIO FOR EMI NIGERIA LTD".
I have never seen an autographed Fela Kuti item come up for sale on eBay, or anywhere else. A search for such items
on Popsike and Collector's Frenzy yields no results. Bid accordingly, as you may never get another chance.
