Description

Up for sale is a 1974 US original pressing of Fela Kuti and The Africa 70’s Afrobeat masterpiece, Shakara, released on the independent Editions Makossa label (EM 23.05). This highly sought-after variant features the official "- RE" recut matrix codes in the dead wax, pressed using pristine first-generation metal parts sourced directly from EMI Nigeria. The vinyl visually grades VG retaining an exceptional factory gloss with some superficial paper scuffs that do not affect play. The outer jacket is in spectacular NM condition, beautifully preserved for over 50 years entirely inside its original factory shrink-wrap with crisp edges and no split seams.
