Fela Ransome Kuti and his Koola Lobitos
This auction is for an original version, vinyl LP of Fela Kuti’s first album.
An 'ultra-rare' and sought-after, original LP by the founder of Afrobeat.
Recorded and pressed in Nigeria in 1965. EMI (Nigeria).
This copy was purchased in Lagos by my parents when we lived in Apapa, Nigeria
for 3 years in the 60’s. This was then shipped back to England
with all their belongings just before the outbreak of the Biafran War in 1967.
On the original EMI – Parlophone (Nigeria) record label (cat no: - PNL 1002).
Both the record and sleeve are in excellent condition.
Please note:
I am not a dealer – I am just selling off my old vinyl collection
from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s as I no longer have the space to keep them
or the means to play them. I don’t have a turntable anymore,
but have played this album through on a friends system
and it plays through with no ‘sticks or jumps’. There are a few ‘pops and crackles’
but no more than would be expected of a record of this age.

My records were well looked after and handled with care.
None of them have been played since the early 90’s
but have been very carefully stored (boxed and most in outer plastic sleeves).
