Fela Ransome Kuti was a producer, arranger, musician, political radical and outlaw. He was all that, as well as a showman par excellence, inventor of Afro-beat and a moody megalomaniac. His death on August 3, 1997, of complications from AIDS deeply affected musicians and fans internationally, as a musical and sociopolitical voice on a par with Bob Marley was silenced.

The artwork for each album in this deluxe set is painstakingly recreated from original albums along with vintage vinyl label images!

The box also includes a poster, a 12-page booklet with a forward by Eno, song lyrics and in-depth commentaries by Afrobeat historian Chris May. The albums are London Scene (1971), Shakara (1972), Gentlemen (1973), Afrodisiac(1973), Zombie (1976), Upside Down (1976) and I.T.T. (1980).
