Fender Jazz Bass U.S.A. - Vintage Reissue 1962
One owner bass, bought new in 2004. Has some but light playing marks as it was my main
instrument for 2-3 years. The neck however is like new and shows a beautiful lightly flamed maple.
Like all U.S. reissues, body and neck are nitro finished, which gives a very pleasant feel and a nice vintage look.
I will not describe the specs, you can find them at Fender website. This bass was very well cared and setup,
action and neck are perfect if, like me, you like it low with no buzz.... it's ready to play.
The two modifications which make this Jazz stand above the rest of reissues are :
Fender U.S. Custom Shop Pickups which provides an incredible full and fat sound.
Go and see the reviews anywhere, nothing to add. It really kicks!
(The original American Vintage Pickups are included as a spare part)
A 100 years old Rio Rosewood slab fretboard was installed by professional luthier (Christophe Leduc).
This wood is actually older than what you can find on original 1960 Fender basses.
The reason for this modification came from the original trussrod which needed regular adjustment
due to a bad anchorage at the top of the neck. I had the choice of either continue regular tuning
and wait for this to stabilize or proactively repair this bad anchorage.
So when I saw this last beautiful stock of Rio wood, I asked for a full
replacement of the trussrod AND fretboard. This was a very expensive add-on to the bass (600,-Eur) but
needless to say the feel of this neck is incredible, it is like silk!
The bass comes with all the original tags and goodies as displayed on the pictures. All original.
It has black straplocks mounted but the original locks are included. The case is in near mint condition.
No noise, plays wonderfull... If you live nearby, do not hesitate to come and try it, you will buy it.
