Three Mercury lps
The Music of Leroy Anderson Vol 1 SR90009 cover shows much shelf wear, discoloration and ring wear evident on back. A marker appears on front edge, on back a used price sticker is still intact. Bottom seam is splitting about 3 inches from lp opening. Sleeve is paper from A&M records. Vinyl shows many scuff marks, dust and a small scratch surely which is audible. G to G-
Curtain Up! SR 90325 - Cover is very nice for its age though it does show some shelf wear and ring wear is evident. Still, the whites are bright and crisp. This is a cutout, a hole appears in the upper right of the front. Used price sticker is intact too. Sleeve is the original paper as it has the cutout hole lined up in it. The lp appears very nice, VG+ visual condition with minor marks and static clinging dust.
Winds in Hi-Fi Lincolnshire Posy; SR90173 Cover has much damage. lower corner of the lp opening appears to have been attacked by a dog (see pictures). In addition this shows much shelf wear, teeth marks, price sticker residue...basically not a cover for collectors seeking something pristine to display! I placed this in a nice rice paper sleeve so surely I felt at one time this was a worthy slab of vinyl to protect. Side 2 shows bad marks and surely audible scratches though, but side 1 appears in nice shape (VG) with hairline marks and some minor scuffs. Side 1 is the side where Grainger's Lincolnshire Posy resides which is the piece referenced on the TAS super disc list. This alone is probably the reason I purchased this lp and put it in the nicer sleeve.
I bought these used back in the 80s and 90s and not played them in decades. I fully expect them to have some surface noise and vinyl artifacts, side 2 of the Winds in Hi-Fi might not even be playable. I recall the Leroy Anderson to be a delightful sonic treat despite the ticks and pops.
