Purchased this album at a record store closeout sale in the early 1970s. There were two

in  the bin, and I grabbed both, and am putting one up for sale.

The records weren't sealed...they had been in the store's stockroom since the 1950s. They

didn't have paper inner sleeves, but see-thru plastic sleeves. I played each copy once, to

check condition and to make a transfer to cassette. Both played perfectly.

Have often thought that this album was possibly an inspiration to Phil Spector and his own

Xmas opus. (The album cover carries the slogan The Sound of Tomorrow – Today.)

Here is a brief extract from the album's copious liner notes:

 ''No concert audience ever saw what Westminster's engineers saw --

or ever heard what has been captured on this recording. It is not a single recording, to 

start with, but a double one...

The boys played everything through once, then donned earphones and went over the

 same ground again, interpolating all manners of  fancy figurations and fugal folderol

 What with a profustion of microphones stationed over the keyboard, the gadget

gadget laden strings and the paired celestas, the results herewith are unlike any

pianism, duo or otherwise, that you have ever experienced...After so many years

of hearing the same old tunes played the same old way, Old Nick undoubtedly would

join everybody else in welcoming these new Christmas sounds.''

Side one: Sleigh Ride, Good King Wenceslas, What Child Is This (Greensleeves),

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, White Christmas, Santa Claus is Coming to Town.

Side Two: Christmas Song, The First Nowell (sic), Silent Night, Jingle Bells, Adeste Fideles,

God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen.

Condition: The album's cardboard sleeve is in very good shape, with some obvious

signs of shelf wear over the years. There is an original retail price sticker on the top

right corner of the cover plus traces of price stickers on the back cover (I think the LP

was repriced by the store several times, in vain efforts to move it.).  As noted above,

the vinyl disk is in near mint condition.The first 2 photos above are of the actual item (sorry

about the fuzziness – I'm a lousy photographer). Photo 3 is a stock photo pulled off the

internet, so you can have a clear view of the album cover.

Wonderful, highly collectible record, a pleasure to find in such near mint condition.
