This item is just one of what will be more than 100 items in my "78rpm auction."  ALL invoicing will commence following the conclusion of the LAST listed item in this "auction."  You can view all items and ending times by clicking on "View Seller's Other Items."

No unsold items will be re-listed as this is possibly my last auction. 

I ship only within the USA.

Following completion of the entire "auction" I will e-mail every winner a (combined) invoice within three days.  

Payment is due within 10 business days of date of invoice.

I accept personal checks, Money Orders and Cashiers Checks, only.  No electronic payments because the risk of identity theft is too great.

Shipping is via USPS Media Mail.  Insurance is recommended as I will not be responsible for lost or damaged items.  This does happen on rare occasion.  With nearly 40 years experience collecting, grading and shipping 78's I can assure that these discs will be properly sandwiched between cardboard and properly padded for safe transit in a new box.

There is a $4.00 charge per box of 78's to cover the cost of  new shipping box and ample wrapping tape and other materials.  The postage charged will be no more than the actual amount required to ship your 78's via Media Mail.

ITEM DESCRIPTION:

Emanuel Feuermann, Cello, with Michael Taube conducting the Berlin State Opera House Orchestra play the Dvorak Cello Concerto, Op. 104, on five 12" 78rpm laminated Parlophone discs numbered E-10856/7/8 and E-11071/2, as originally issued.  The 10th side filler is the Menuett by Valensin-Danbe, played by Feuermann with piano acc. by Michael Taube.  Recorded about 1928.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Many years ago a well known 78 collector told me that there was a different take used for one side of this set when it was issued on US Columbia.  For that reason I will list the Matrix number for each of the 10 sides, along with the recording engineer's initials, in case this may help to verify that this set being offered may have a different take for one side.  Take numbers do not show.  Beginning with side 1:  2-20748, "Bn"; side 2:  2-20749, "Bn"; side 3:  2-20750, "Bn"; side 4:  2-20751, "Bn"; side 5:  2-20752, "Bn"; side 6:  2-20753, "Bn"; side 7:  2-21582, "A"; side 8:  2-21583, "A"; side 9:  2-21584, "A"; side 10:  2-20220, "F".  

Visually and aurally the first three discs of this set grade Excellent, absolutely beautiful and flawless, with very quiet surfaces.  Discs 4 and 5 are only very slightly less Excellent due to just 3 or 4 notes that have the barest hint of groove wear.  I suspect that the brighter sounding recording of these sides (later session with different recording engineer) contributes to this.  Still, this slightest hint of groove wear is barely audible on side 7, and the beginning of side 9.  This is still an absolutely incredible set and the winning bidder will not be one bid dissatisfied with this choice gem.
