Description

The legendary Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco, under Concert Promoter Bill Graham, became the premier performance venue for many bands in the 1960s. To enhance concert visual effects, lighting engineers built a light system at the Fillmore that included stroboscopes, slides and film projections onstage.

Beginning in the mid-1960s to 1971, the Fillmore Auditorium became the focal point for psychedelic music, “the San Francisco Sound”, and the counterculture in general hosting such bands as The Grateful Dead, The Jefferson Airplane, The Steve Miller Band, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Moby Grape, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix Experience, The Byrds, Big Brother & the Holding Company, Santana, Frank Zappa & the Mothers of Invention and British acts including The Who, Cream and Pink Floyd. (The Grateful Dead played a total of 51 concerts at the Fillmore from 1965 through 1969.)

In this auction is a piece of GREAT ROCK & ROLL HISTORY!

·       The BOX is in VERY STRONG VG to WEAK VG+ CONDITION. There is light to moderate overall wear. The BOX LID is rather clean as you can see in the images. THERE ARE NO SPLIT CORNERS ON THE BOX LID AND BOTTOM.

For sure, a VERY NICE ADDITION TO ANYONE’S VINYL COLLECTION!
