Description
Here is the very first album ever put out by legendary blues/folk singer Josh White -- “Harlem Blues”, on the Musicraft label, recorded March 7th, 1940. The six 10”, 78rpm sides in this 3-record album were among 8 he recorded that day. The sides include “Prison Bound/Careless Love”; “Hard Time Blues/Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday”; and “Motherless Children Parts 1 & 2”. Among the musicians on these sides is the legendary clarinetist Sidney Bechet.
This is Musicraft album N3. Although it has some musty odor from being in a basement for decades, it is intact and in otherwise great condition!! I have not played the records, but visually they are in good condition and appear to be seldom played. There are lots of 78s out there, but maybe not so many complete albums, the forerunner of the LP many of us grew up with.
