Description
This is a first pressing of The Gerogerigegege’s Uguisudani Apocalypse LP. Brand new, never played, kept in a humidity controlled container.
This is a strange record by Gero standards as it is not the noise rock or sound collage of most of their releases, but rather 12 tracks of Japanese lounge music (kayoukyoku) intended to represent the residents of the Uguisudani neighborhood of Tokyo. The Uguisudani station has the least riders of any station on the Yamanote line but “also the deepest”. I would guess that the tracks on this record are actually just kayoukyoku tracks from other Japanese musicians that Juntaro is passing off as his own, which he has done before. But this is still a great addition to any collector’s discography and worth listening for insight into Juntaro and his view of Tokyo.
