Description
Presenting the first recording of George Gershwin playing his composition, Rhapsody in Blue, performed with the Paul Whiteman Orchestra on Victor 55225. This is a blue label 78 RPM Victor 12 inch disc, released only a few months after the historic Aeolian Hall concert of February 1924. A later Victor pressing of this work does not feature Gershwin at the keyboard.
The record is in excellent condition, with only a few barely visible fine scratches on side A, which do not affect play. Victor 78s from this era have excellent surfaces and good fidelity even though acoustically recorded.
This is the perfect way to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of this groundbreaking composition!
We are experienced packers and will do our very best to ensure that your record arrives in your hands in the same condition as it left ours. Bid with confidence.
