With these two lovely gatefold albums – individual jackets, both ED1 – from Electrola (WALP 1509 and WALP 1510, German pressings, red/gold “Lan33gspie” semi-circle labels, mono – no stereo edition exists) one can collect the young Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau’s sublime survey of Beethoven lieder, made with pianist Hertha Klust at the Gemeindehaus, Zehlendorf, Berlin in November 1954 and and December 1955 – true landmarks in the Beethoven discography.

In lieu of liner notes, both jackets carry the complete original vocal texts (in German only). The striking cover photo of Fischer-Dieskau is uncredited.
CONDITION:
The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.
The condition of the two jackets is VERY GOOD+. Both have edgewear and bumping at corners, but that is all. There are no seamsplits, owners’ markings, bends, or other defects, and the two jackets remain solid, bright, and highly attractive – overall, these are very good collector’s copies.
The condition of the 2 LPs is EXCELLENT throughout. Though surfaces are not absolutely silent, really these are fine copies and playback is superb, close to NM. It you must have NM or flawless surfaces, please do not buy this set. In all, these are excellent collector's copies.

This LP has been carefully cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine. All LPs are provided with a new Nagaoka (or Nagaoka-style) inner sleeve.
