The Yardbirds
"Five Live Yardbirds"
Released in December 1964 (EMI Records).
Recorded live at the Marquee club, London, on the 13th of March, 1964.
This album was recrded live at the opening night of the new Marquee club at 90 Wardour street on 13th of March, 1964. The night also featured Long John Baldry and the Hoochie Coochie Men (featuring Rod Stewart) and American blues legend Sonny Boy Williamson, who a few months later invited the band to support him on a UK and German summer tour. This is the very first album that Eric Clapton ever recorded.
# It’s worth visiting http://www.themarqueeclub.net/1964 to see what a hub for blues this famous club was.
I did wonder who did the introduction to the band. A quick search of the Interweb reveals this to be Georgio Gomelsky’s assistant Hamish Grimes,

for a really comprehensive review of the show right down to the make of tape recorder used.
CONDITION.
The front laminated fold back sleeve is in good condition*. A few creases within the laminate and a segment of the fold back torn at the top right. The back of the sleeve is a bit dingy with some staining.
I’ve added photographs of the front and back in this listing.
The poly lined inner sleeve has yellowed a bit over the intervening 52 years. I believe it to be original as it recommends the use of “Emitex” as mentioned on the record sleeve.
Vinyl
Side One is in excellent condition. Side Two is very good with a couple of light marks visible. They make minimal impact on the sound.
Once the music starts it’s the big mono vinyl sound as expected. The record plus the inner sleeve weights 173 grams.
Good News Everyone! You can check out the quality on the attached eCommerce Player. (In fact my request/demand is that you listen before placing any bid. You know it makes sense.)
(This album recorded on my Linn Sondek turntable using “Audacity”, exported as a 320 kbps MP3 file and uploaded into eCommerce Player. No editing whatsoever just a pause as I turned the disc over. It's all there from the moment the stylus touches down, finds the groove, plays the side and runs off)
Thanks for looking over this item. I've done my best to highlight any deficiencies and again request that you have a listen before placing a bid.
Apologies for any “typos” and my Cavalier use of upper and lower case text.
This auction will run for the full time so please don’t ask for a buy it now

Record Collector Magazine's Grading Guide:
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
