Description
Original mono cut from 1964: The vinyl uses the same metalwork as the first 1964 UK pressing, preserving the raw, punchy live Marquee Club sound. Runout/matrix codes: Side 1: XAX 2725-1N (with small etched letters EP or GP (hard to read); Side 2: XAX 2726-1N (GA/GC, again hard to read). Authentic 1960's EMI press. Sleeve condition: Flipback sleeve in Very Good + condition - minimal wear, clean laminate, printer credit intact (Garrod & Lofthouse, Ltd). Vinyl condition: VG+ - np skips, no significant clicks or pops, plays beautifully. Substantiated by the first spin in 30+ years on my AR-XB turntable with a Shure M91ed cartridge and a Jico replacement stylus tracking at 1.5 grams. Rim text: "The Gramophone Co. Ltd. All rights of the manufacturer..." "Made in Gt Britain/Sold in UK subject to resale price conditions." Historical note: Back cover states: Recording first published in 1964, emphasizing this is the original Erc Clapton-era performance at the Marquee Club in London. Inner sleeve: Condition VG+. Original sleeve included, featuring EMI promotional photos from 1967 - notably Pink Floyd - The Piper at the Gates of Dawn and The Beatles - Sgt Pepper's - adding a unique period collectible element. Label is Columbia in a box and EMI in a box, all black, dating it to the late 1960's - not the original Black and Blue label from 1964.
