Description
The first UK release by this iconic group. Formed in 1953 and still occasionally performing today. Albeit a much changed line up.
The Flamingos scored several hits in the USA in the 50’s with thier unique Doo wop sound and changed to Soul in the 60’s. They failed to make an impact in the UK and this first release in 1956, flopped. Only a few copies are still around and highly valued in record collector guide. By chance a mid 60’s release of Boogaloo Party was popular when Northern Soul was in its infancy. When Northern Soul took off in the late 60’s onwards,many overlooked records were re-released and became big hits ,second time around. In 1969, The Flamingos finally had a UK top 30 hit with the reissue of Boogaloo Party and is still popular today.
Side A “Would I be crying” is in VG condition with some scratches. It plays fine with no skips or jumps. Side B ,” Just for kick” the spindle wear is more noticeable.
This is extremely rare copy and sought after by Doo wop fans and record collectors. Don’t miss out!
