Fleetwood Mac - Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac, UK First Press, Blue Horizon 7-63200, A1-B1 !
The time has come for me to trim the fat out of my collection a bit, and I could use a bit of extra cash, so I have decided to get rid of some odds and ends and doubles that I have kicking around. My loss can be your gain.
Here we have an original Mono UK first pressing of the Fleetwood Mac album Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac. This is the bands first album and is rooted entirely in the blues, complete with Jeremy Spencer's slide guitar and all around Elmore James worship. Peter Green is considered one of the greats of contemporary blues guitar and after listening to this album it is easy to see why, it may not have the innovation and experimentation of his later singles with the band or the stuff off of Then Play On, but as far as straight forward blues whaling straight from the gut few can top him. Great Album by a Great Band! This copy is not mint, but is a very nice place to start as it is still in very great shape, and won't be needed to be upgraded until you come across a mint one.
Now lets get down to business.
The record is in EX+ condition. It has been played and enjoyed a fair bit by previous owners, but still performs very admirably. I only spun it a couple of times as it was a back up copy to the one I am keeping. There is a bit of crackle between the tracks and during the quiet parts, but nothing that distracts, There is still plenty of that mono punch that can only be found on these original recordings, so crank it up!
The labels are EX-. There is no fading and the text is bright and bold with the Blue Horizon logo prominently displayed. There is no stickers or writing, the only thing that detracts is some spindle wear around the center hole, you can examine it in the photos to see if you can live with it, but considering the condition of the record itself it shouldn't be that much of a distraction.
The Sleeve is in VG+ condition. It is the original E.J. Day & Co. laminated front, matte rear Blue Horizon issue. There is VERY minimal wear to the laminate on the front, no lifting, but a couple of creases here and there, again nothing that distracts. The matte black back does suffer from some minor ring wear but that is almost to be expected considering the construction and the age. The top and bottom edges of the sleeve are solid with VERY minimal wear. The opening edge does suffer from a bit of feathering as well as a small tear at the bottom. The spine is pretty worn, you can make out the "Blue Horizon" at the top, but the "Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac" is unreadable, but even with that the sleeve is overall very nice shape.
Grading: As per Goldmine Standards
-Vinyl: EX+ (play graded, also just had it cleaned on a nitty gritty cleaning machine just to be safe)
-Sleeve: VG+
I have included several pictures that will give an accurate display of the condition of the record being sold, but if you should have any further questions, or would like more pictures, I will be more than happy to assist you.
Shipping:
I will be happy to provide insurance and tracking to the winning bidder, at their expense of course, but I will do my utmost to keep the shipping costs as low as possible. It is the least I can do since I know how much I hate being overcharged as a buyer!
Any international bidders feel free to contact me about shipping costs before you bid and I will do my best to get back to you in a timely fashion. Also any potential bidder with a low feedback score please get in touch with me before bidding, as if I feel that you aren't on the up and up I will cancel your bid.
This will be my first of a few records I will be putting up in the near future, so keep your eyes peeled, especially if you are a fan of early fleetwood mac. I will happily combine shipping if you should win more than one item.
Thanks for looking.
