CONDITION (VINYL/COVER): EX/EX. Vinyl is super clean with a nice dark sheen. It has a small scuff on "The Chain" which causes a tick for around 5 revolutions. Played passages of this today on my budget deck. Sits flat on the turntable. Generally sounds EX. Music is clear and loud. Even "songbird" sounds really clean. Beautiful music, great LP. Cover is also in Excellent shape. Nice shape to spine. It has minimal edgewear, minimal cornerwear and negligible creasing. Insert is also pristine, little sign that it has ever left the sleeve. Super clean labels. No writing, rips, stickers or sticker tears.
GRADING SYSTEM: I use UK’s “Record Collector” Grading system. MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface mark or deterioration in the sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in the sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover, or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable. GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound has noticably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding,scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration etc. I will at times use a + or - to indicate when a record falls between the grades.
I am just starting to sell off my very extensive record collection, built up over 40 years. I have hundreds of rarities in fantastic condition from many genres including blues, punk, metal, britpop, progressive, kraut, classic and hard rock.
